Foresight Consulting was established in 2000 by Brian Cox.

In addition to presenting at various national and international conferences, Brian's work has been recognised through winning:

Since launching Foresight Consulting, Brian has led numerous shared services and partnership programmes/projects, service improvement/recovery and efficiency projects, ICT and Customer Services reviews (including channel migration) and transformation projects in both the public sector.

Brian holds an MBA and PhD, and is a Fellow of SOCITM and a Fellow of the British Computer Society.

Lon Jeal

Lon Jeal Photo Lon Jeal has over 25 years experience in the IT industry, most of it within the public sector. He has extensive ICT Infrastructure, technical consulting and technical project management experience, providing Infrastructure Reviews, Roadmaps, Tender Process management, Security reviews, Requirements Specifications, Licensing Reviews and Data Centre audits. Recent projects have included the Technical Project Management of Data Centre migrations for Essex Fire & Rescue and Dacorum Borough Council, with replicated SANs, full server Virtualisation and a Disaster Recovery facility. Involvement in a number of PSN CoCo projects has left him well placed to review infrastructure from a security perspective. Excellent experience of desktop delivery methods including a thin client / Citrix roll-out at Suffolk Coastal / Waveney District Council and design services for London Borough of Redbridge. Key skills include Storage Area Networks, Virtualisation technologies, Microsoft Licensing, Data Networks, Infrastructure Servers & Security and Data Centre provisioning.

Dave Smith

David Smith PhotoDavid Smith has over 25 years experience in the IT industry; the recent years have been involved in the public sector. He has extensive configuration experience with Microsoft Servers including domain upgrades, server virtualisation and server patching / maintenance. Providing technical configuration services to server estates including documenting infrastructures, designing and deploying Citrix Farms, VMWare Infrastructures and backup solutions. He is also adept in LAN/WAN networking, working with CISCO, HP and Extreme switches and firewalls. Recent projects have included the Technical Team Lead roles at Essex Fire & Rescue Service, Suffolk Coastal / Waveney District Council and Dacorum Borough Council providing Virtualisation services and a disaster recovery model through SAN replication. Hand over to the local team is always high on Dave's list offering skills transfer and full documentation on all projects. Key skills include Microsoft AD Server infrastructures, VMWare and Citrix Virtualisation, Server and SAN configurations and Local Area Networks. He holds multiple certifications in Microsoft, Citrix, CISCO, VMWare, and ITIL.

Adrian Mason

Adrian Mason PhotoAdrian has over 28 years local government experience working in IT. This has included all aspects of application support including managing corporate applications for two local authorities. He has extensive experience of SQL database administration as well as managing application installation and data migration projects. Other key work has included designing and implementing backup and maintenance strategies, creating system specifications as well as developing and supporting bespoke applications. In addition to this he has experience of the emergency services sector, both in an operational and managerial capacity.

Michael Segal

Michael Segal Michael is a focused and dedicated IT management specialist with a proven track record of ICT Management experience in local authorities. His key philosophy is that any technical solution must be focussed on meeting customer expectations and not deploying technology for technologies sake. During Michael's career he has gained a reputation for being able to solve complex issues (as well as his ability to negotiate) in order to come up with mutually agreeable solutions. His focus has always been building and working with a cohesive team, enabling an environment where decisions can be made quickly and deployed effectively.

David Fannin

David Fannin Photo David has worked in local government and the non-profit sector for 25 year's and is a reliable, experienced and forward-looking senior executive. As Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Community & Voluntary Service, David is leading the transformation of its operations and financial management whilst also strategically positioning the organisation for the future. As Assistant Chief Executive at South Holland District Council, David played a pivotal role when the council was assessed as 'Excellent', making sure that performance management and partnership working met the highest standards and were driving improvement. David has a keen understanding of how organisations work, how to get the best out of people and how to use business planning processes to support improvement and get results. David is a PRINCE2 Project Management Registered Practitioner, holds an MSc with Distinction in Public Sector Management and is a member of the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations.

Roger Bramwell

Roger Bramwell Photo Roger Bramwell has extensive Local Government knowledge and experience gained from a career with a wide range of local authorities. His expertise includes Customer Services Management, Facilities Management and office design, Asset Management and Accommodation Strategy, Procurement, and most recently Customer Service Transformation and Change Management as Head of Customer Services for Braintree District Council. Before joining Foresight Roger acted as a freelance Consultant and previous assignments included the outsourcing of the Facilities Management function for Rugby Council on behalf of the Institute of Public Finance and designing and building the Customer Services telephone contact centre for Winchester City Council. Roger is Member of the Institute of Management and in 2004 was selected as a finalist in the Local Government Chronicle National Awards for E-Government for his achievements at Braintree.

Ben Schlaepfer

Ben Schlaepfer  Photo Ben Schlaepfer specialises in the customer-facing elements of technology. Ben has fifteen years e-channel design and development experience covering the finance, media and local government sectors; delivering services via Internet, Intranet, Digital TV and Mobile devices.

Previous projects include Web Content Management selection and implementation at Suffolk Coastal Port Health, Mersey Port Health, Dacorum Borough Council and Barclays PLC and website definition, design and build for Suffolk Coastal Port Health, Mersey Port Health, Dacorum BC and Sky Television. In the past three years Ben has worked extensively with the NHS and London Boroughs on Enterprise Collaboration initiatives.

He also provides ongoing e-channel consultancy to the National Institute for Health Research, Chiltern District Council, Essex County Fire & Rescue, Braintree District Council and other private sector clients.

Ben's focus is user-centred design and he is a strong advocate of usability, accessibility and customer centricity in all that he does.

David Ablett

David Ablett Photo David has spent over 30 years in local government finance culminating in holding the position of 151 Officer at a medium sized District Council. He has managerial experience throughout the broad spectrum of local government finance. A full member of his Departmental management Team he also served on the Council's Senior management Team. David has led budget reviews, sponsored decision conferencing and headed up multi disciplinary teams addressing cross cutting themes. In addition he has promoted the VCT of payroll services and negotiated banking and insurance contracts for the Council.

Kate McColl

Kate McColl Photo Kate has worked within the public sector since 2003 and has lead on the business analysis of many local authority processes. She has also lead numerous business analysis projects in the private sector (finance and telecoms) and was Head of Business Analysts for a leading CRM software company at one time.

Roger Wilkin

Roger Wilkin Photo Roger Wilkin has extensive management experience in both public and private sectors. His professional background is in the management and improvement of frontline services, and more recently he has been engaged in project managing substantial change and shared services projects. Roger's projects have included the shared management programme for Breckland and South Holland District Councils, the ground-breaking joint waste client body for the Somerset Waste Partnership, as well as other projects for East Hants District Council, Maidstone Borough Council, Taunton Deane Borough Council, Sedgemoor District Council, Test Valley Borough Council, Winchester City Council and Guildford Borough Council. As well as a BSc in Psychology, Roger holds an MBA and is a member of the Chartered Management Institute.

Vinny Logan

Vinny Logan Photo Vinny has a clinical nursing background and has worked in the NHS at board level for over 9 years including: Director in Primary and Community Services, Director of Nursing and latterly as Director of Redesign and Service Improvement. With a strong focus on user and patient experience, she has been responsible for a number of different board level portfolios including: risk management, governance and patient safety, control and prevention of infection and Safeguarding for vulnerable adults and children. A strategic thinker, she has proved to be an equally effective operational leader and has contributed significantly to the development of both individuals and of teams. Vinny is an experienced commissioner of mental health services and adult social care and has extensive experience in delivery of community services. She has a Bachelor of Nursing, an Masters degree in Business Administration and a Masters degree in Organisational Behaviour.

Bev Cranham

Bev Cranham Photo Bev is passionate about excellent customer service, with proven experience in managing and setting up first class customer service delivery and solutions in the private and public sector (including call centres and one-stop-shops). As a project manager Bev has implemented several CRMS, ACD's (Automatic Call Distribution) & WFM (Work Force Management) solutions; designed and built several call centres and one-stop-shop and migrated services to the new ways of working and delivering customer first experience.

Frank Renouf

Frank Renouf Photo Frank enjoys a reputation as an innovative, results orientated Business Consultant and Programme Manager. A certified MSP Practitioner, he has a strong track record for adding value in strategic programmes within the private and public sectors. He specialises in business process improvement and organisational change and is regularly asked to secure substantial operational and efficiency improvements by harnessing leading edge information technology. With over 20 year's experience, Frank has led many change programmes and business critical systems implementations including ERP, HR, CRM and financial systems. He is an advocate of formal, structured methodologies which he has used consistently to deliver complex, large scale projects on time and within budget. Frank is a Member of the British Computer Society and a Fellow of the Institute of Business Consultants.

Terry Street

Terry Street PhotoTerry's career started in ICT in local government where he rose to be Technical Manager with responsibility for desktops, mainframes networks, capacity planning, SLA's problem and change. He also began presenting and advising on leases and public procurement, and wrote articles and guidance on the subject. He transferred under Tupe to Siemens in 1997 and was a strategic consultant on business development, and continued his external consultancy work, after a further Tupe transfer in 2004 he became a full time Consultant. He continues to specialise in procurement and also developed training material and guidance on partnerships, he became involved in benchmarking and the environmental impact of ICT. Today he regularly writes and trains on ICT procurement and provides range of consultancy related to contract reviews, option appraisals and procurement assurance generally to clients in public sector, and to suppliers. Terry has a MA in European studies, is a Principal Consultant and Product Manager for Socitm Consulting and a member of BCS and CITP and member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Omar Foster

Omar Foster PhotoOmar has over 10 years experience working within local government and over 10 years experience working in IT; he has a firm understanding of the pressures under which local government operates having delivered a number of projects at Dacorum Borough Council, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Charnwood Borough Council, Leicester City PCT, Sandwell Homes and most recently at Northamptonshire County Council. Omar has an excellent understanding of project and Programme management with substantial experience of setting up, running and closing down projects. Omar Specialises in Project Management and IT Service Management and is a Qualified ITIL Red Badge and a Prince 2 Practitioner. A positive consultant, an excellent communicator and many years experience dealing with employees at all levels and with disparate parties and third party suppliers. Omar consistently delivers projects on time and to budget.

Phil Back

Phil Back Photo Phil is an expert in consultation and customer service, who was previously Head of Local Government Research at RBA Research, where he won a prestigious national award for customer service research at Braintree District Council. This research programme has been used to underpin Customer First programmes at several councils since, including Dacorum BC, Nuneaton and Bedworth BC, Corby BC, Daventry DC and Warrington BC to name just a few. Phil has an extensive background in local government and was for some years the East Riding of Yorkshire Council's first research manager
